Hello Artisans,
Last night the Board members met at 6:30, before the general meeting/ class. Items discussed were as follows:
October class - October 13, 2009 we will host a workshop with Modern Masters at Melanie's Studio. Teri will be sending you information about the class and its content in the near future.
Website - Kara is adding new information to our website on a regular
basis. Please check it. She will also have new photographs on it!
Send Kara pictures of your work and of past classes or projects.
Old Website - Teri will call Shelley Schwartz this week and take care of this long winded problem.
Information and advertisements - From time to time I receive emails regarding classes and products etc. In the past I have passed these emails on to all our members for their review. From now on, I will send them to Kara to have them posted on the website for a short time.
Board Meeting ended at 7:00
At 7:00 we had a short and sweet general meeting before diving into Miss Audrey's wild ride!
We were happy to have two guests with us. Julie brought, Vahi. Vahi is from Iran, she is an assistant to Melanie at the studio. Vahi said she had a good time and enjoyed the class very much. Those of you that were not with us last night will all be able to meet Vahi at the October class at Melanies.
Sandi Scott and Reba also brought brought a guest, Mike. A big strong U.S. Marine that was very sweet and helpful.
Thank you Julie, Sandi and Reba.
Joanne Cesena gave us the wonderful news, she will not have to undergo Chemo Therapy!!!!!!! We all clapped and yelled with excitement!!
Reba also had wonderful news! Sister Sandi explained the new treatment that Reba is receiving and it is not making her feel terrible like the chemo had. Reba has more energy and looks fantastic! We heard she was even doing a bit of gardening that morning!
We will keep prayers going, we love you both.
Julie announced there is still one opening for the IDAL "Modern for the Masses Class" in December. If you are interested, please sign up ASAP.
Joanne Cesena brought up her garage door project and wondered if we still wanted to participate? We all agreed that, YES, we do. Joanne and Teri will discuss the details and let us know.
As I am working off memory, I probably forgot plenty. I will add more if I remember more.
Thank you.
Miss Audreys Class:
Guess what? We did it again! We had sooo much fun, lots of laughs, lots of noise and lots of learning. We had 16 members participate and
7 members observe.
Miss Audrey was out standing! She put on her magic shoes, you know , the ones with bottle openers in the souls, and walked us through French Antiquing and Wood Toning. Audrey was so well prepared, painted boards, mixed paints, tools, instructional handouts etc., I know there were countless hours involved. Thank you so much Audrey.
We all were given two primed boards, one for each technique. All the materials and of course Audrey's arsenal of weapons. Hammers, rocks, ice picks and meat tenderizers would soon rock Beths quiet home.
This was not just a fun class but extremely informative. I know that many of the members had never used many of the materials that Audrey had provided. Thank you so much Audrey for taking time during and after the class, explaining uses and giving samples.
In the end, we all went home with two beautiful samples that I
believe, we can all reproduce on our own. We all went home unharmed and in tact.
By the way, I wasn't joking about Audreys shoes, they are awesome!
Thank you again Audrey, you were great!
Thank you all for attending and making another class a huge success!
